Join Us on Our Journey

What to Expect

If you visit.....What to expect

We hope you will take the time to visit with us. If you decide to visit, here are some things you can expect.

The first thing you can expect to find at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church is a warm and cordial welcome. The people here are truly glad when someone comes to worship or participate in some other activity at Mt. Bethel.

At Mt. Bethel you will find people on a spiritual journey, who are seeking to grow in their faith relationship with Jesus Christ, who want a nurturing church family, and who are searching for ways to serve God more.

You may dress casual, a dressy dress, or a coat and tie. At Mt. Bethel you will find people in all styles of dress. We are not concerned about your style of dress, we are concerned about you joining us for our spiritual journey through life.

If you arrive at 9:30 on Sunday morning and stop by the fellowship hall you will find a group drinking coffee or juice, eating snacks, and just having a wonderful time of fellowship. This time will close with a brief devotional and prayer as the group goes to the Sunday School classes.

At 10:00 the Sunday school classes start with classes for children to adults and all ages in between. Some groups will follow special studies while others will follow the International Sunday School lessons.

If you are joining us at 11:00 for Sunday worship you will find people ready to worship God in a beautiful setting. We will start with the prelude, and call to worship. The music will be a blend of new choruses and traditional hymns. There will be prayers and sometimes psalms and responsive readings all in an informal, yet structured order. The message by our pastor, Tommy Heaps, will be biblically based and practical for life. You are sure to leave spiritually inspired and challenged to go out and live the abundant life of discipleship.

One the first and third Sunday evenings at 6:00 you will find worship with a time of informal singing and a brief inspirational message. On the second Sunday evening the worship service will be brief, with both singing and a message followed by a snack supper in the fellowship hall.On the fourth Sunday evening you will be able to enjoy congregational singing, with the congregation selecting their favorite hymns.

Come and join us. You will certainly be welcomed and find a church family eager for you to join us.
